More Than Just a Workshop: A Focused Journey to Understanding Your Pain

Living with chronic pain can feel like a lonely, frustrating journey. You’ve likely tried medications, physical therapy, or other treatments, only to find inconsistent or limited relief. The Chronic Pain Relief Experience is fundamentally different.

Overview

Girl in a jacket

Chronic Pain Relief Experience is a two-day, in-person, clinician-guided intensive created by Dr Paul Whitcomb for people living with persistent or chronic pain who want a non-invasive, integrative, whole-person approach—and who are ready for a structured process that delivers clear, measurable feedback.

Many people with chronic pain are offered symptom-focused options without clarity on why pain keeps returning. This experience is built around a different question:

How is your nervous system contributing to your pain—and can a targeted, integrative protocol change your pain response in real time?

Over two days, participants move through a comprehensive integrative assessment, a targeted nervous system and movement-based evaluation, and a guided protocol testing session designed to observe real-time pain response. You’ll leave with:

  • A clearer understanding of your pain drivers and patterns
  • Immediate clinical feedback on measurable changes observed during testing
  • A personalized review of findings and recommendations
  • A determination of whether De AnchoredSelf’s ongoing protocol is a good fit
  • A practical next-step plan for sustainable pain management

Important: This is not a general workshop, motivational talk, or open screening. It is a structured assessment experience with intentionally limited enrollment to preserve individualized attention and clinical quality. It is not a guarantee of pain elimination or a “quick fix”—it’s a clinically grounded process designed to determine fit and next steps.

Event Details

  • Dates: March 28–29, 2026
  • Time: 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM (both days)
  • Location: 403 Eastern Blvd., Essex, MD 21221

Who It’s For
This experience is designed for children, adolescents and adults experiencing chronic or persistent pain, including:

  • Fibromyalgia-related widespread pain and fatigue
  • Recurring back, neck, shoulder, knee or generalized musculoskeletal pain
  • Nerve-related discomfort (burning, tingling, hypersensitivity)
  • Recurring migraines or tension headaches
  • Post-injury pain lingering beyond expected recovery
  • Pain-related sleep disruption, reduced mobility/endurance, or work limitations
  • Emotional distress, anxiety about progression, or fear of long-term medication reliance
  • Individuals who feel they’ve tried many options (PT, injections, etc.) with limited or inconsistent relief

Age Policy: Participants 0–17 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

Program

This two-day experience is structured, hands-on, and personalized. You will not be asked to “push through pain” or perform invasive procedures. Instead, we focus on nervous system regulation, movement patterns, stress physiology, inflammation influences, and whole-body contributors that can maintain chronic pain loops.

Core Components (What You’ll Receive)

1) Comprehensive Integrative Pain Assessment

  • Pain history and pattern mapping (triggers, fluctuations, duration, prior approaches)
  • Functional and lifestyle review (sleep, stress load, recovery capacity, daily demands)
  • Whole-person context (including trauma history and stress physiology where relevant)

2) Targeted Nervous System + Movement-Based Evaluation

  • Observations to identify protective patterns, sensitivity, and functional limitations
  • Clinical reasoning focused on how the nervous system may be amplifying pain signals

3) Guided Protocol Testing (Real-Time Response Testing)

  • A structured, non-invasive testing session to evaluate pain response in real time
  • Focused on whether targeted strategies produce measurable changes

4) Immediate Clinical Feedback

  • What changed, what didn’t, and what the results may indicate about your pain drivers
  • Clear interpretation of findings in plain language

5) Personalized Findings Review + Recommendations

  • Individualized review of outcomes and recommendations for sustainable management
  • Determination of eligibility for continued care (if appropriate)

6) Clear Next-Step Planning

  • What to do next—whether that’s continuing with a structured plan, referrals, or specific self-management strategies

Signature Modality Included

Breathwork is integrated to support nervous system regulation and evaluate its relationship to pain sensitivity, stress response, and recovery capacity.

Program Flow (High-Level Schedule)

Day 1 (9 AM – 5 PM): Assessment + Baseline

  • Orientation and expectations for a clinical assessment intensive
  • Initial integrative pain assessment and nervous system-informed evaluation
  • Baseline measures and functional observations
  • Guided breathwork integration and regulation strategies (as clinically appropriate)

Day 2 (9 AM – 5 PM): Protocol Testing + Results

  • Guided protocol testing session to observe real-time pain response
  • Review of measurable changes and what they may suggest
  • Personalized findings review, eligibility determination, and next-step planning

Because each participant’s experience is individualized, your exact sequence and time blocks may differ.
